I'm not posting much about gaming these days (too busy doing it!), so here's a little meme-age that I picked up from various people on my flist.

When you see this, quote Oscar Wilde:

One's real life is often the life that one does not lead.

***

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want, either good or bad. I promise not to come after you with a spatula, either way.

When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people remember about you.  My money is on mortified...

I remember

You sitting in my living room drinking iced herb tea. [livejournal.com profile] firefly67 was there, plus Sealwyf? or Hemogoblin? or someone... and we were all laughing hysterically.

Why aren't you using your default Wilde quote?

Ah... the lemon/chamomile, I think. I still make that when I'm feeling down, or my stomach is quirky.

As for the Wilde choice... since this is my gaming blog, I thought it was a quote that applied best to gaming.

I miss the old Vampyres gang. I need to find time for the next Vampfest, if there is one.

Well... my favorite Oscar Wilde quote of all time is: 'I can resist anything but temptation.' It's from 'Lady Windemere's Fan' and is apt in my life.

As for a memory of you and I, I'll have to say it was at Origins this year during the Living Death battle interactive and we were facing a number of vampires and quite worried about our survival. The expression on your face was priceless when I said that poor Lady Cora Baker, 78 year old Detective and Medium, would "charge the vampire and attempt to grapple him, hoping my companions will take the opportunity to lay about with various and sundry sharp or pointy things."

Your expresssion was even more incredulous when the dear lady actually won the grapple and her companions DID move in and dispatch the ne'er-do-well, saving the day... and confounding your expectations, I imagine.

Luckily, I get to play LD this upcoming weekend at WIGE - Atlanta, where I am quite sure she will do something heroic and unexpected, as she oftimes does. :-)

Heh. Miss Evangeline Pennyworth took 58 points of damage (some of it due to level and con loss) in approximately 2 rounds. Her party took a total of 22 points - guess who was holding the line so they could get to cover?

The WiGE modules are rife with opportunities for epic heroism this year. Highly recommended!

I think most of my fondest memories may be a bit sado-masochistic, because they tend to involve me gleefully torturing you (or rather, torturing Francis). I remember you telling me about dreaming of running through the jungle, and thinking "oh, she's so going to regret telling me that."

Of course, I knew about you before I'd even come to the States, through the "Ravenscar Nights" site, and I remember feeling incredibly honoured that you wanted to game with me. Your obvious enjoyment gave me a real shot of confidence in my ability to tell a story when I really needed it.

Of course the best one has to be finally getting to meet you at GenCon, when we'd been good friends for years. You're as sweet in real life as you are online, sunshine :-)

Forgot my favourite Wilde quote:

"Biography lends to death a new terror."

Heh. I told my local crew that you call me "Sunshine", and they heaped incredulity and scorn upon me. Not a one could believe there was anyone deluded enough to call me "Sunshine". Especially after meeting me! Mind you, they like me well enough and consider me to be a good friend to them - they just couldn't get their brains around "Sunshine".

Me, I like it. And I like that you're the only one who calls me that. Shiny.

You made it to a Bloodstock, right? But not the one I did... I have this vague memory of finally getting to see a picture of you and was like sooo psyched to get to put a name to a face!

I remember sitting in some restaurant after an exhausting GenCon day, griping about being dumped by RPGA campaigns, when the former head of Living Dragonstar (just cancelled that weekend) walked by. I remember that there was alcohol involved, and that I had a fun evening. :)

I remember you friending me! That was cool. I'm not sure we've ever met in person though....

Well, that would be one of the more emotional moments in my gaming career - where we both broke down after my wookiee killed herself.

Totally off topic
